Dr. B.K. Keshavan is Professor and Head with Electrical and Electronics department and also the Dean(academic) at PESIT. He has acquired rich exposure in the field of power systems during his stint as research scholar at IIT Bombay and Implementing several projects funded by various agencies.
He received the award from VGST for center of excellence in high voltage and power systems (2010) . He has published 15+ papers in International Journals/Conferences . He is regularly invited to deliver lectures on topics related to power system reliability, Smart grid, Distributed generation and non conventional energy sources. Guided two research scholars towards their Ph.D
He is currently working on two funded projects. His research topics include modeling of solar and wind generation, Energy auditing , testing of transformers and machines. He is currently working on protection of distribution system. Research guidance: currently five research scholars are working under him towards their Ph.D

He graduated in engineering from Malnad College of Engineering , Hassan, Mysore University, and completed Masters in Electrical Machines from P.S.G.College of technology, Coimbatore. He completed his doctoral studies at I.I.T. Bombay.
